Tip of the Week

Last year, a number of messages on my forums included some beautiful examples of fantasy art intended for the covers and internal pages of a brand new comic series. I watched the launch of the new series, an adaption of a well-known fantasy novel by George R. R. Martin , The Hedge Knight.

Within weeks of publication both the regular covers and the limited quantity with covers by guest artists, were sold out. The cover prices ranged from $2.95 to $5.95.

I checked eBay recently and noticed that these titles are now appearing from time to time and mint condition ones are selling for nearly twice the cover price. Not a bad investment for a few months!!

To take good care of a new comic, it may be kept in a polycarbonate sleeve with an acid-free backing card that is slightly larger than the comic itself, so corners do not get accidentally `dinged`. If you`re serious, the copy you save should remain unread - so buy two copies, one to read and one to save.
