Playing with alphabet blocks and singing "The Alphabet Song" are simple ways to acquaint your child with letters from babyhood.
Avoid baby talk. Speak to your child in adult language from the start, so she will recognize words she sees and hears.
Make books a joyful and important part of your childīs life. Read to him every day and discuss the stories. Ask questions about the pictures. Ask him to point out pictured objects that are alike and different in shape and in color. This helps children to observe small differences in the shapes of letters and words, when learning to read.
Provide your child with a variety of experiences. Take him to the zoo, the mall, the park ... and make every outing a learning experience. Teach him the names of animals, flowers, store items, etc. In order to understand the words he encounters while reading, your child should have first-hand experience with the objects they describe.
